Cupcake In A Jar

This post was too charming not to share.

I came across it in my daily blog reads and fell in love with the idea of a decadent cake in a mason jar.

Enjoy!

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- *2 1/4 tsp cocoa powder
- *1 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp white distilled vinegar
- *2 tsp vanilla extract
for the cream cheese frosting:
- 1 pound cream cheese, softened
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- *2 tsps vanilla extract
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar

This is an example of another great favor idea for a couple at their wedding! [Or you could include the dry ingredients and a recipe card in the mason jar for a DIY at home].

Yum!

Cupcakes in a mason jar is a great idea. I never would have thought of this myself. I am planning a bridal shower for myself for the spring of next year. I am going to try this out during the holiday season to see how well it goes over with everyone and if they love it I will have those at my shower. Last thing as far as planning the shower is ordering my bridal shower favors from http://www.sweet-memory-creations.com
